Big E Talks Difficulty of Judging Fan Reaction in WWE Thunderdome

Last updated

WWE Superstar and Intercontinental Champion Big E recently appeared on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio. The New Day member discussed a number of topics during the show, including how he finds it tough to judge how his current Championship run is going without the reaction of a live crowd.

“I feel like it’s such a weird time” Big E began on the show. “I’m so grateful that we’re still able to work, and to perform in the Thunderdome is the best possible scenario. But I feel like, the true measure of title runs? I always think of the feedback from fans.”

“That’s what I think of, I think of [Daniel] Bryan’s run” Big E continued. “What he does in the 20 by 20 is incredible, but you think of people losing their minds, you think of the YES chants collectively. Same thing with Kofi’s [Kingston] run. I think of that immediate feedback from fans.”

Big E as IC Champion

Big E then stated how he has found it difficult to ‘sink his teeth into’ his current run as IC Champion. “As grateful as I am for this? It’s just not…I can’t really sink my teeth into it” Big E stated. “The fans are the barometer, they tell you immediately if something is good, or if something is bad. So I can go out there all day and think ‘man I’m killing it.’ But if I’m in front of 10,000 people and it’s crickets, what I’m doing doesn’t mean much.”

“So, that’s kind of the biggest adjustment” Big E continued. “It is really trying to determine, like ‘how well is this working?” How much are people really behind me? Because it’s one thing to go on Twitter, but as we all know, Twitter, and that online feedback? It can be very different when you go to say Jackson, Mississippi. They could be losing their minds live and the Twitter crowd might not be feeling it, or vice versa, you know?”
