Former WCW President Eric Bischoff recently discussed one of Tony Khan’s recent purchases and how he believes it has “no value.”
Speaking on his Strictly Business podcast via AdFreeShows, the former head of World Championship Wrestling talked about Khan’s purchase of Ring of Honor.
“How many YouTube viewers did Ring of Honor get before they were purchased? You’re talking about tens of thousands, maybe? It was an insignificant, off-the-radar, unknown brand, with the exception of the most active of the internet wrestling community who sought it out” Bischoff began.

“The [tape] library was worth almost nothing. A lot of that library is so poorly produced it doesn’t lend itself to a premium streaming platform” the former WCW President claimed.
“You know, there’s some legacy to it because some talent came out of there, which is notable and interesting as backstory. But there’s no real value in any of the assets” he concluded.
As Easy E noted, there are a number of talents in both AEW and even WWE that came through ROH, so there are a lot of very useable assets for promo packages etc.
In terms of whether the tape library is ‘worth’ anything, that certainly remains to be seen, as Tony Khan may well decide to have his own AEW streaming service featuring all of the ROH classic content.
