Former UFC fighter and BKFC/AEW star Paige VanZant recently revealed that she was previously in talks to join WWE.
Appearing on Throwing Down with Renee Paquette and Miesha Tate, VanZant confirmed that she was previously in talks with Vince McMahon’s company.
“I did know my career would take me to pro wrestling eventually. I wasn’t sure what venue that would be, if it would be WWE or AEW” VanZant revealed on the show.

“I’ve been a fan of both, I made it out about a year ago to WWE headquarters. They had a different plan for what they wanted for me” VanZant noted.
“With AEW, I’m so excited they were happy to partner with me and let me continue to fight MMA and do bare-knuckle boxing. They’re on board to build my career, build me as a wrestler, and let me be myself” the former UFC fighter concluded.
Paige VanZant is set to feud with Tay Conti during her initial run in AEW. Whether VanZant is able to perform in the ring remains to be seen, but she seems quite natural when it comes to the promo side of the business.
