Former WWE Superstar Shane McMahon got name-dropped during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite in the opening segment.

AEW President Tony Khan appeared during the opening segment of the show and revealed that he had bought Ring of Honor.

Fans then started chanting for ‘Shane,’ making reference to the 2001 segment of WCW Nitro and WWF RAW where Vince McMahon revealed he had bought WCW.

Shane revealed during that now infamous segment that the “signature did read McMahon,” but it was he who now owned the company.

Hearing the Shane chants, Khan replied “Shane’s not here, though. There’s no Shane, it’s me” referencing the original angle.

We’re hoping to get more information on Ring of Honor and Tony Khan’s involvement going forward in the coming days.
