Tony Khan makes massive claim about CM Punk’s AEW return

Tony Khan, the President of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), has made a historic announcement regarding the return of CM Punk to the wrestling ring.

This marks a major event in the world of professional wrestling, as Punk is set to officially make his comeback on the premiere episode of AEW Collision’‹.

The Long-Awaited Return

CM Punk’s return is set to happen when he teams up with FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) in a match against Samoa Joe & Bullet Club Gold (Jay White & Juice Robinson).

This will be Punk’s first official match since AEW All Out 2022, where he emerged victorious, seizing the AEW World Title from Jon Moxley. However, the victory was not without its costs.

Punk suffered a torn triceps, leading to a suspension from AEW due to his post-show remarks and involvement in an altercation with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson)’‹.

In a recent interview on Busted Open Radio, Tony Khan expressed his enthusiasm for CM Punk’s return. When questioned about any potential doubts regarding Punk’s comeback, Khan initially suggested Punk would provide the answer on AEW Collision.

He then added, “For me, I always wanted to get CM Punk back in the ring and I’m really excited that it’s finally happening tomorrow night. I always wanted to make that happen and I’m glad it’s happening.”’‹

Earlier in the same interview, host Dave LeGreca had mentioned that Punk’s return was a significant event for AEW. Khan agreed, stating, “It’s going to be really great to have CM Punk back in Chicago and back in AEW. He’s a huge star and it’s going to be a really exciting night for the fans. We’re trying to build a tradition on Saturday night and bring Saturday night wrestling back. I think CM Punk will be a huge part of that.”’‹
