Concerns over the health and future of Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson has been out with an undisclosed injury for the last few weeks. We know that he suffered the injury during the Anarchy in the Arena match but not much else is known about his condition.

After it was announced that Danielson couldn’t fly to a scheduled appearance, fans started wondering if he had actually suffered a concussion.

The former WWE star seemingly addressed these rumors during his most recent promo on Dynamite. It was announced during the show that he has not been cleared to compete at Forbidden Door and a mystery opponent will be facing Zack Sabre Jr. instead:

‘My mind is working at full 100 capacity. I can jump into the ring, I can read 500 words a minute, I can run two miles and I won’t even break a sweat so don’t worry about me coming back.’

Dave Meltzer discussed Bryan’s promo on Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He noted how not being cleared a month after a potential concussion can be a problem for Danielson due to his history:

‘We had been told he was expected to be on this show, but if it was a concussion, they are unpredictable and when you’re talking not passing protocol a month out, and with his history, that’s not a good sign.’

These rumors still need to be taken with a grain of salt since nothing has been confirmed. In the meantime, Bryan’s injury has fuelled the speculation of a former NXT champion taking his place at the show.
