The preliminary rating for WWE SmackDown is in and the company can be very happy with the numbers that they have generated this week.
According to a report from SpoilerTV.com, this week’s episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown had 2,274,000 overnight viewers.
The official number will be released at some point in the week, but it is still a strong number for the FOX Network show this week.

Vince McMahon opened the show this week, and clearly, that was a big draw. Although he didn’t say much of anything, there was a lot of intrigue heading into the episode.
McMahon is still under investigation by the WWE Board of Directors, and reportedly there were those backstage who were not happy that the now-former CEO made an appearance.
We’re expecting the result of the investigation to be revealed in the coming weeks. If McMahon were to leave WWE, it would be a huge shift in the landscape of pro wrestling and sports entertainment.
