WWE Hall of Famer and NXT commentator Booker T recently made a pretty controversial claim regarding the developmental brand.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the NXT commentator suggested that the company bring in another title for the brand, something that fans haven’t exactly been clamouring for.

“I don’t see that being a bad thing just because right now they just have the tag team championship and the singles championship” the 5-time WCW Champion began.

“The thing is, you have so many ladies in NXT right now that perhaps need that belt, that television championship to launch their career a little bit” be claimed.

Booker would then discuss a couple of names that he believes would be suitable to be given the title for a run on USA Network:

“So I look at girls like Sol Ruca right now that are coming up. She could be someone who can get the rocket [strapped on her] or definitely Tiffany Stratton” Booker noted.

“I can see Tiffany Stratton being the television champion in NXT, why shouldn’t NXT women have one more championship for the women to be highlighted just a little bit more?” he concluded.

Is this something that would really help the developmental brand? It remains to be seen.
