WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar could end up facing a UFC legend in the next couple of months, according to a recent report.
Speaking on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that Daniel Cormier could end up in a match after he referees the Fight Pit contest at WWE Extreme Rules.
‘His name has been mentioned many times as potentially being a commentator on SmackDown” Meltzer revealed on the show.
Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Cormier
“FOX loves him from when he did the UFC events [there]. But he’s with ESPN so it becomes kind of tricky, although you could get that done.
“But they have McAfee and McAfee’s their guy, and I think they see McAfee as a bigger celebrity than Cormier.
“I think a lot of people know that originally, he wanted to do pro-wrestling” Meltzer added talking about Cormier’s fandom and original plans following his Olympic run.
“There’s people who are speculating maybe he and Brock do their match. I don’t know. I think if he wants to do pro-wrestling at this stage of his life, and my gut is that’¦ I don’t know. I don’t think he wants to. I haven’t talked to him about this in so long, years” Meltzer concluded.
Whilst it doesn’t look like a sure thing that we could see Lesnar vs Cormier in WWE, it would certainly make sense to play off of their face in UFC back at UFC 226.
