WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently revealed a WWE Superstar he wanted to face “as much as Bret Hart” from the Ruthless Aggression Era.
The latest episode of The Kurt Angle Show podcast was focused on Rob Van Dam, and Angle revealed why he didn’t push too hard for a match between the two back in 2006 when the ECW brand was relaunched.
“At this point in time I wasn’t really speaking up” the Olympic Gold Medallist began. “I wasn’t really happy with myself in the company and at this point in time, I really wanted to get out of the company, and that was my objective, to be honest with you” Angle revealed on the show.

“Unfortunately, we never had a program, never happened, never occurred” the former WWE Champion would continue, also referencing their time in TNA.
“He’s one of the guys I would love to have a program with. I mean, I’d actually have loved to wrestle Rob, to have a program with Rob, as much as I did with Bret Hart.”
