WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has claimed that a top AEW star has now surpassed Shawn Michaels as the GOAT in pro wrestling.
Speaking to Lucha Libre Online, Angle claimed that Chris Jericho has now overtaken HBK as the greatest ever to grace the wrestling ring.
‘What he’s been able to do with his characters, changing and innovating himself and being able to be as effective as he is in the business this late in his career, at 51, 52 years of age, and being in the business for over 30 years,’Â the Olympic Gold Medallist began.Â

‘He put in a lot of time and a lot of effort, and he’s very talented. So, I’ve put him up there with Michaels” Angle continued.
“But now, after being in AEW and doing the things he’s doing now, he has to be the greatest of all time, especially [considering] the amount of years he put in” the former WWE Champion concluded.
It’s tough to argue with Angle here, as Jericho has adapted his character and in-ring style over the 30+ years he has been in the industry.
